Fort Worth is the 5th largest city in Texas and 17th in the country, with a population over 720,000. It is the county seat for Tarrant County. The city is the second largest city in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area, known as the Metroplex.
Fort Worth is divided in North, Far North, South, East, West, and Central Downtown. Neighborhoods in the North include Rosen Heights, Diamond Hill, Northside, Riverside, Stockyards (a National Historic District), Oakhurst, Sansom Park and River Oaks. Far North homes are in Fossil Creek, Heritage, Park Glen, Summerfields, Marine Creek, Lake Country and Harriet Creek Ranch. Neighborhoods in South Fort Worth include Berkley Place, Camelot, Colonial/Bellaire, Camelot, Fairmount, Hallmark, Hulen Heights, Highland Hills, Morningside, Overton, Park Hill, Stonegate, Tangelwood, Wedgwood area, Westcliff and Worth Heights. Neighborhoods in the East include Poly, near Texas Wesleyan University; Stop Six, Woodhaven and the Woodhaven Country Club; Eastern Hills, Sagamore Hill and White Lake Hills. In the West are Arlington Heights, Como, Lake Worth Village, Ridglea, Western Hills and Linwood Park. Downtown has condominiums and beautiful art deco style buildings.
Colleges and nearby universities include Texas Christian University, Brite Divinity School, College of Saint Thomas More, Tarrant County College, Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, Texas Wesleyan University and the University of Texas at Arlington, Fort Worth campus.
